Vans "Story of Vans" Film

When I first got to Vans at the end of 2015, they were gearing up for their 50th anniversary and to celebrate we made this stop motion animated film telling the story of the brand. Beginning in 1966 and stretching to present day, Vans' impact on surf, skate, music, art, and fashion culture was illustrated with the shoes as supporting characters. Each frame was hand drawn on the shoes and the white backdrop behind them, while a library of paper cut outs moved through the foreground.
